Jamuary 11 (on the 16th)

I've been struggling for a while to find a VCV Rack sequencer that allows for a priori, deterministic composition and handles knitting multiple patterns into songs with a UI that isn't painfully cumbersome; also, I'd like it not to be intolerably buggy. (Basically, I want a Winter Modular Eloquencer in software.) Tonight, I went the route of trying to using a basic, 16-step, multi-track CV sequencer combined with switches and divided clock signals to approximate what I wanted. As much as I love knitting together basic components in witty ways for generative sequencing, for deterministic sequencing and traditional composition it's just a pain in the ass, and doesn't allow for much subtlety.

Anyway, I made a large and complex mess; I cut it down quite a bit, and that became the patch for tonight's jam. The track is number 11 in my Jamuary album, and the VCV patch file is available in the Jamuary DropBox share.

Tomorrow, unless I get inspired on the Eurorack, I'm going to try the Biset Tracker in VCV, and see if that goes any better.
